Image Transfer

Transferring images to fabric

I took a couple of black and white photocopies of the bird card. I painted with white household emulsion paint onto calico and pressed the photocopy onto the white paint. If you try this, try to smooth out the creases and bubbles very carefully (as the paper gets damp from the paint). Let the paint dry completely, then carefully pull the paper off the paint leaving the image. The image will be reversed unless you reverse it first at the copying stage

I tried this on calico and white cotton. I like the slightly "patchy" paperiness of the resulting image which makes a nice surface on which to stitch
