Textile Art Mosaic - Water

I love to make photo mosaics - in this one I am looking at textures and colours in a piece of work I stitched with a watery sea theme

To make the fabrics look "watery" I used plastics and chiffons that reflect light, distressed the chiffons so they look like air bubbles and used different coloured layers for different depths of water. The frayed edges show water movement. I added seed stitches and fly stitches to resemble coral

How incredibly beautiful. I've been thinking about doing some watery surfaces with felt, and I love the solutions you came up with - brilliant!

You have some lovely textures here Carolyn. I am really interested in layering fabrics in this way. I've just done a little of it and know that it's not easy to get the effects you are after. Lovely mosaic.
