The Sketchbook Project 2011

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for all the fab comments you leave for me. You are lovely!

Last week I signed up for The Sketchbook Project 2011 and I'm eagerly awaiting my moleskin journal from Brooklyn, New York. If you have signed up for this project too and want to add me as a friend please send me a "friend request" by clicking here

Earlier this year Janice and I planned to meet up while she was visiting St. Ives on holiday but one thing and another, probably me being a bit stressed out with cottage renovations, we didn't get to meet this time

Yesterday in the post I received a parcel from Janice with goodies that she kindly said she had planned to give me when we met

My parcel contained a lovely handmade flower card, some vintage seaside postcards with beautiful handwriting and old stamps and some gorgeous hand dyed variegated threads in lovely colours. I already have my eye on those sea greens (bottom right) for my Festival of Quilts entry

I also received this piece of felt made by Janice with hydrangea petals embedded into the felt. The colours are soft and spring like and Janice remembered I love hydrangeas! It's beautiful. Thank you so much Janice and I do hope we get to meet up next time ♥

A mosaic I made back in March celebrating my love of hydrangeas

1. Hydrangea 2. Hydrangea 3. Got no place to go 4. Hydrangea petiolaris...

I hope you are having a good weekend

I'll be back with more seaside stuff and my pebble sketchbook in the next post

Carolyn ♥

I love the Hyrangea pics! I'm not sure if you got my email Carolyn but there was some lovely work on pebbles at the recent Prism show that made me think of your sketchbook. I bought a postcard to send to you... if you email me your address I'll send it on.

Oh Carolyn, what a fun gift! Everything is so beautiful, and I can't wait to see what you do with the fibers! Your hydrangea mosaic photography is stunning! I must enjoy them through your blog and photographs as they will not live happily in my region. Have a great Sunday. :-)
