Textile Inspiration

I've been working on a new piece for global warming. I'm very excited about it but I've been short on time this past week so it's taken me a little longer to finish it than I would like as I have to stitch in "snatched moments" here and there. I hope to show you the new piece by the end of the week ...

In the meantime, I found these wonderful satellite images in "my colours" for this project. The colours and textures are very inspiring to me. The marbling effects make me want to get my oil paints out (and, perhaps, I will when time permits!)

Vatnajokull Glacier, Iceland

Akpatok Island, Canada

Malaspina Glacier, Alaska

The images come from a most amazing book called "Above the World"

Amazing photographs Carolyn and what a beautiful world we live in. You could certainly get some design inspiration from these images.
