I used several layers of chiffons, metallic fabrics, shiny papers, metallic threads, sequins and beads and they really "shimmer" and catch the light but it's very hard to capture the sparkles and textures
Work in progress
I made four background pieces of fabric and free machine embroidered on each one
Shiny shimmery sparkles
Free machine stitching
I got distracted and one piece ended up being another "Global Warming" piece! I stitched lots of circles then "zapped" the piece with a heat gun and a soldering iron to get to the shimmery bits underneath. I really love the idea of circles, holes and distress

This is not finished and I can't wait to get back to stitching this piece. Must get the hearts finished first ...

Your use of holes and burning and distress is so evocative!! I love the effect and the message is so important. The hearts themselves are smashing and would hang in my home year round for sure!!
Lovely, heartfelt work!!!!
New colors! Music! Hearts of icey blue sparkles for Christmas warmth and cheer....no wonder I visit here often.
The hearts are so pretty. I'm sure they are even more sparkly in person and certainly would be something I would keep out all year.
These are truly lovely. Love the fun new colors for this time of year.

I love those little hearts. You make me want to pull out my sewing machine and start stitching.
Hi Sweet Carolyn!
The hearts are lovely! They remind me of mermaids!

Isn't it fun making background fabrics? I do so enjoy it. Yours are lovely - vibrant and full of fun little details. I find this type of creating one of my favorites! Happy 5 days Until Christmas!!
