Copper Leaves

This sample has a calico base with scrim on top that I dyed myself a soft purple. I painted some Tyvek in purple and gold which I distressed with an iron (see below) and some chiffon which I distressed very carefully over a candle. I used dried autumn leaves, leather and copper metallic machine stitching

Please take care - (if you try this) when holding pieces of chiffon or sheer fabrics over a naked flame, ie. a candle, as usually these fabrics are extremely flammable and burn quickly. They can also cause fumes and you should always do this in a well ventilated room
