Paint and stitch on calico

For this sample I was looking at the overall "Mars" shape and the triangle, moon and square patterns in my starting picture

I painted the image on calico. I used silk paints which I painted on with a brush, blending the tones. Then I covered the black area completely with seed stitches and beads in black and gold
















The orange moon shape is long stitch with machine embroidery on top in metallic copper














The square is black plastic mesh with copper zigzag stitch
