Art Quilt

The next project, photos and pieces I'm showing here are my colour and composition experiments which led to a small art quilt. It was based on the theme of my holiday to Dominican Republic quite a few years ago and in particular the vegetation, leaves, trees, flowers and local Taino art of Dominican Republic

I began by using this post card for inspiration choosing the citrus fruity colours of yellow, lime, green and orange for the main colours with touches of dark pink (which you will see later)

Thanks for the comment on my blog - only a few days to go to get the camera back. I love your blog- especially the photos of St Ives. We went to Cornwall a few years back and thought it was beautiful. I will be very interested to see how your quilt develops from that very interesting photo. I take photos when we go to France of similar markets and vegetables but have never done much with them. I may be able to find some inspiration.
