March winds

"it was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold
when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade"
Charles Dickens ~ Great Expectations

that summed up the weather in St. Ives pretty much yesterday

so warm in the sunshine
but the wind was bitterly cold and fierce

these photos belie the chill factor

still, most of us will agree that St. Ives is beautiful in all weathers

I had a great day with St. Ives Textiles yesterday
took quite a few photos of the textile work which I will share soon
as well as the students' printed textiles from Falmouth
so much to process and work through

the samples from the Surface Treatment Workshop are taking longer to develop this week
crackle paste has a way of developing in it's own time and cannot be hurried it seems!
have a good creative week everyone x

I certainly agree. St. Ives looks beautiful whatever the weather. Keep those beautiful photos coming I love seeing them. The next best thing to actually being there.

It looks glorious :-) We get the chance to call in for a day in April so order up some sunshine please. I'm hoping to pop into the Tate, it should be open by then.

I was actually reading that very quote today and almost put it on my blog post (great minds??). Your comment about St. Ives being beautiful in all weathers gave me a thought...a photo, taken once a week in the exact same place, over a year...to show that very beauty as it evolves over time. (I know - ducking and running now.....)
