Inspiration in nature

I've been stitching on the art quilt but it's not quite ready to show you yet ... but very soon!

Meanwhile, I got a little distracted today by these gorgeous yellow flowers. Arlee tells me they are called "hypericum perforatum"or St. John's Wort! and are natural anti-depresssants. I think that may explain my sunny nature as I used to pick these from my high chair in my Nan's garden ... anyway, they certainly are very sunny flowers

Anyway, one thing led to another and I found this gorgeous leaf down by the cottage garden gate - it's a keeper! It has so many wonderful colours in it, I'm not sure I can do it justice with my camera but here are a couple of photos of it

Even though it has some damage to it, I still really love it for the colours and textures

And this very pretty irridescent mother of pearl button with flowers and leaves is a very recent purchase
I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, I just had
to have it!
