Copper and St. Ives Blue

It occurred to me that the reason why the colours of copper orange and "St. Ives" blue in the last post work so well together is that they are complementary (opposites on the colour wheel)

This inspired my mosaic for Mosaic Monday

1. Mary Linda 2. Ropes and Nets 3. Pierres Debout de Carnac (Standing Stones of Carnac) 4. there is something in the air tonight.... 5. Flap Detail 6. fall colours 2 7. Jellyfishes 8. Banana Silk Yarn -- Pumpkin Spice 9. Rust 10. Water Goddess 11. adventures in spore printing 12. felt detail 13. #412 Fleur Too 14. Beading detail 15. Stones 16. *

Thank you to all the amazing artists (my flickr contacts) whose work is featured in this mosaic

Have a good week :o)

Hi Carolyn!
Thank you for a stunning mosaic to begin the week. I'll have to take a look at a color wheel. I haven't forgotten that you want to look at a red maple leaf. I have some pressed in a favorite book. I'll photograph them soon and post them. love! love! oxpp

Thankyou for your kind comments. not usually up this early! but should do it more with the fantastic view of the sunrise.
Going to Angela Diggles Silk Painting workshop today. I do like this mosaic idea a lot of thought goes into placing and balancing the piece as a whole to make it work and you achieve it.

The colour combination is great - makes me want to go and get out my sketchbook and paints and to rummage through my fabrics and threads and get creating - unfortunately this will have to simply join the queue for everything else that is already in the pipeline!!!
