Deborah's work is exquisite, vibrant, cheerful and colourful
This one reminds me very much of many different holidays I've had to the Canary Islands, the colours of the volcanoes and mountains and earthy soil
Deborah's very fine detailed work is incredibly inspiring but her abstract landscapes are really firing my imagination rigt now ... WOW ... my mind is running riot with abstract colour combinations
These words from Deborah's blog are inspiration itself and make me want to get my silk paints out again
"Imagine a piece of shimmering, white, silk stretched on a frame. You dip your brush into some liquid dye and touch it to the silk. Instantly there’s an explosion of brilliant color as the dye spreads over the silk. Add another color and the dyes dance together on the silk, moving and blending as they go. Add water or salt, and spontaneous organic textures develop and take on a life of their own. It's fun to watch the dyes and silk interact - I hope you'll enjoy the outcome!"

Not only do I love the colours and details in this piece but also the humour. This prickly guy is so cute! This strange spiky fish reminds me of the conker shells that I picked up today
The shells have little spikes
And looking more closely, as I always do, at the detail of the conker shell I see wonderful "rust like" textures and colours. Oh wow!

Oh my goodness, those paintings are stunning! The rich, saturated color takes my breath away. I also had to smile at your pictures of the shells--I'm compelled to pick those up every year! There's a whole world in that shell. Amazing.

Ahhhhhhh! Silk painting speaks to my color-o-meter! I wish I had a studio with more paint than I could ever dabble in. As I sit before my living room window, I think, "God's the ultimate artist. The little maple across the street (my current favorite tree) is a masterpiece."
I wish I could give all the artists who showcase color a collective hug! Happy day, C!
Thats a coincidence! Just put my attempts at silk painting on my blog which were acheived with help from Angela using salts.

It's good to know that there are many other latent silk painters out there - get your silk paints out - you'll be addicted once you start!

Thanx for the link. The other textile art I'm in love with is silk painting. It's amazing as the wonderful colors flow on the silk and that you never know for sure how it will look like at the end.
