Pretty pink light

The weather in St. Ives has been dreadful recently

I expect you are surprised to hear me say that! I usually love ALL weathers, whatever comes ... because when it's blustery, rainy and cold I make the most of it and snuggle up in my cottage and sew and paint

All week I have been waiting for good weather for two reasons. To enjoy my little hedgerow and woodland rambles and to take photographs for a particular project

Yesterday, finally, the sun came out and gave me some good light for the photo project. I was very busy. I took 140 photographs of still life arrangements, then grabbed my coat and walked. It was very cold and damp, a little misty too. I was on a mission to find "bittersweet" berries for dyeing some of my calico thread

By the time I returned at around 3pm the light was waning, the best of the day slipping away. I tried to photograph some of my new finds but the light was pink tinted ... but pretty, pretty, pretty ...

Remembrance

I'll be back at the weekend ... must get my projects finished ...

Carolyn I am new to your posts. I have to say how much I have enjoyed your tutorials, especially the one on Tyvek. I spent the last two days making beads and am totally into it now. I just had to thank you for great tutorial. I enjoy all your posts too. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. So much to read and take in. Sharon

'Morning Carolyn. Your blog posts make me want to go rummaging in my work space and collate things into little treasure troves : )Reminds me of when I lived in a different cottage from the one I am in now and I used to have a shelf with jars and dishes and mini shelf units all arranged with bits and pieces kept for their prettiness or found outside and brought home as keepsakes.
Feeling a bit better today but my two children are now showing symptoms.
Thanks again for your uplifting and inspirational posts : )

Bittersweet berries...I dont know if we have those in Australia. I look forward to your post on dyeing with them (especially so I can see what they look like).
Carolyn I would LOVE to do a swap with you next year. Just let me know when and I will get a stitching/ a painting.
